Apologies if I'm in the wrong forum.  I've recently started playing sims 3 again and downloaded one wallpaper over the weekend that I suspected may have had something attached, but as yet I can't find it.  I've looked with MSE, Malwarebytes,
Emsisoft and am running Eset at the moment.  Nothing is showing up.  This morning playing a flash game I suddenly
couldn't scroll with the mouse and had to close Firefox and reopen to get the page to work.

I've had to remove the latest Adobe 11.3 plugin because it's crap and go back to Adobe 10.  Could that be the problem?

Also, I want to know the best antivirus/malware program to buy.  I need something solid.  I have tried Kaspersky, the temporary one, but it slowed down my computer.

Thanks.

+1 for Avast (free)

in regards to Adobe issue, can you please confirm whether the issue you have is with the browser version or with the installed version of Adobe on your desktop? Try opening a pdf from a webpage in the browser, and then try saving the file to the desktop, and opening it with the desktop version of Adobe Reader.

I think personally Windows 8 Release Preview is better than Vista. MS have supplied their own anti-threat software and built it into the OS. No need for extra FW, AV or MW software. Flash is also built into IE10 as well.
