Compressed air is kind of expensive but I understand that a vacuum can cause static discharge.

I have seen this here which is pretty expensive but looks like it does the job well.

Are there any other decent alternatives that are safe for sensitive components that you get in a PC?

Just get an air compressor from repco or supercheap auto with a big tank and the blow gun attachment. I used one yesterday to clean out 15 computers with no problem and the extra pressure is really useful. Never had an issue with oil or water as long as I empty the tank out after every use.
