I got a new HDD Western Digital model WD5000AVDS. Installed into the machine, started up and it is not recognized, there is no new device in "My Computer".
The HDD came with no jumpers and I wonder if I need to set a jumper on it? I had C: (Master) and D: (slave), this new HDD would be the third HDD in the system. First is IDE, second (and third) are SATA.
I could not find a lot of info on the net about jumper settings and the HDD came with no instructions (but it is brand new).
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds like you haven't actually been into Disc Management and enabled the HDD and created a partition and (if needed) allocated a fixed drive letter. You have to do this before it will be visible to Windows as a drive.
