Topic # 69127 3-Oct-2010 14:21 Send private message

I am trying to view www.michaelhill.com, the page appears to load, but then I am left with the spinning 'loading' symbol.
This happens with Fx3.6.10, ie9 beta (x86.x64), chrome 6.0.472.63 and silverlight is version 4.0.50917.0.

The only parts time the site appears to work is the 'about us' and 'email sign-up' tabs. All other options just make the page reload, except for 'Promotions' which sends the site into an infinite loop of reloads.

I am running W7 HP x64. Rolling back to Silverlight 3 makes no difference. Disabling browser add-ons does not help.

On a laptop running XP home SP3 the site works alright, but performance wise its very slow to respond. It works on IE8 and Fx3.6.10 on that laptop, with silverlight 4.0.50917.0.

Ran the site on a XP SP3 machine E2160 CPU, 1GB Ram. Functioning normal speed wise.

Try uninstalling silverlight and download the latest version. reboot and see if that helps?

The laptop I do not really mind, it works. Its the W7 machine I really care about.

Removing silverlight, restarting, reinstalling silverlight from the promp at michaelhill.com still does not work. Updating, still does not work.

I have the same problem with the promotions loop but apart from that the site runs fine on my Win 7 x64 and on IE8, Opera 10.62 and Fx 3.6.10. I get a bit of stuttering with IE9 Beta but the site is still usable (frustrating, but usable).

The site sets a number of session cookies - it might pay to check these aren't being blocked.

Site freezes (Opening the Doors...) before it fully loads for me in Chrome on Vista with 2 gigs ram.

Was a little hesitant to open to site in case the misses walked past, could have been very expensive...
