i don't know a huge amount about computer hardware, i'm currently running a computer i bought in 2007 and i'm looking to get something new, primarily to play games (mostly strategy, total war, company of heroes 2, x-com etc) and maybe a little bit of photoshop.
i don't think i'm going to require anything super-powerful but i'm told that i should prob be looking at an i5 processor, i'd like 8ish gb of ram and a 1tb hdd.
i don't know enough about video cards to have any idea what i need - i've been reading up but going from almost zero knowledge to trying to decide which to buy is slightly daunting.
so.
i've been messing around on ascent and this is what i have:
looking at spending as little as possible, i can prob stretch my budget to $1500 but ideally i'd keep it as close to $1k as possible. that one above (assuming the parts are compatible) comes out at $1240 incl windows.
