Hi,

We have exchange 2003 on win 2003 SP2 server. my outlook has slow response when I am opening emails and clicking "Reply" & "Forward" button. My PC is HP DV7 64bits i7 with 8G RAM

What I have done:

1. ran Windows/office updates
2. archived emails
3. recreated outlook profile
4. compacted outlook0.ost file
5. disabled addins except indexer

But it still slow. I have run outlook safe mode, it was very fast when I opened emails and clicked "Reply" & "Forward" button.

Anything I can try to fix this?

Thanks!!!!

Suggest confirm you can use the /safe switch and narrow it down further with the other safe mode switches:

/safe:1 Starts Outlook with the Reading Pane off.
/safe:2 Starts Outlook without checking mail at startup.
/safe:3 Starts Outlook with extensions turned off, but listed in the Add-In Manager.
/safe:4 Starts Outlook without loading Outcmd.dat (customized toolbars) and *.fav file.

Do you know if there's an active antivirus software on the server? Perhaps some item in your mailbox is causing problems during scan? The admin will have to look at logs for that.
