SOrry for this rant but was trying to order a last minute gift for bro overseas via trusted site

Got redirected to Verified by visa

Then after i keyed in the correct stuff (was a guess - so hardly used)

The dreaded note: "pop up blocker ....."

Screen went white

Immediate worry was: scam/phishing?

Rang bank - transaction went thru

Logged in to shopping site: cart was not checked out

Arrrgh ...

Let's hope they can track otherwise might have to reverse transaction and redo

If it costs more than the $11 might have to donate it

STUPID POP UP BLOCKER!

I have not used IE regularly for a long time. It surely must be unusual for a merchant to implement a payment scheme and not test on IE9. I use Chrome which has a popup blocker enabled by default. Never had this problem. If you must use IE then get into the habit of adding an exception before you begin the purchase process.

Slightly off topic. I've been having trouble with the ASB website. Couldn't log in could open any of the site links. Did the usual turn off add blocker, temporarily disable anti virus. Nothing fixed it. Finally rang the bank, then 2 weeks later emailed them. Got this reply

"Thank you for your email regarding Internet Explorer 10.

I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.

We have been advised that some customers are affected in this way due to the browser they are using; in this instance it may be the new Internet Explorer Version 10 (IE10).

Our Online Team are looking into this matter, to find a solution as soon as they can.

In the mean time, please try using a different browser and if you are still having trouble please phone our FastNet Helpdesk on 0800 327 863 and a representative will be happy to assist you."

Still no solution on IE 10 so using Firefox which is working

Merry Christmas
