I have a Trophy that bricked itself during updates after a factory reset.

It starts up as far as the HTC splash screen, then buzzes 7 times, and hangs there forever (until the battery dies).

I've tried a couple of tricks I found via google, but the general consensus seems to be: its poked, send it back under warranty.

Before I embark on the pain of dealing with call-centres and warranty processes, has anyone else encountered/fixed a similar issue?

Yup, and the up & down volume button + power button, and the Up volume + camera + power.

They all work, in that they get me to different screens, and one gives me the CRC checksum. But none of them did anything useful to fix the device.
