think asus padfone

Then grab a Microsoft surface tablet and a Nokia smartphone and smash them into each other at a million miles an hour. Would be awesome.

A few Nokia Lumia leaks have come out in the past 2 days.

Nokia Lumia 920 to the left and Nokia Lumia 820 to the right. Lumia 920 is flagship while Lumia 820 is midrange.

Lumia 920 has dual core S4 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8MP Pureview tech camera, 32GB storage and 1.3MP front facing camera. It will feature wireless charging along with Lumia 820.

...except that it looks like sham 'PureView', and not the real deal. Like the look of the Nokia, but not bringing a real PureView camera represents a badly missed opportunity to really bring it.

some rumors point to a 21MP pureview camera and some to 8MP. 1 more day left to find out i guess. certainly don't need a bulky 41MP sensor but if the pureview software is magical then you can get some great photos with 8MP too I guess.

Iphone 4 form factor was almost right - the Galaxy S3 is too big, and these Nokias (if true) are even bigger.

So uninspiring. Massive 'phones' that are quasi tablets but useless as an actual phone.

I want my E65 back.

Edit: I do find the Blackberry 9360 is also very nice, but a bit naff on battery life. By 99g and about 80% of the dimensions of the S3, with rounded edges. Excellent vox quality too.

+1.  Size does matter, but bigger is not better in this case. Laughing

I disagree, so do many others if you look at sales of these "too big" devices.

I do think it's a shame that people who agree with you both aren't being well catered to at the moment. Choice is good.

Will this stream the event after the fact or is it only live? Don't really want to be awake at 2:00am...

Both Nokia and Microsoft have always made available important events like these available later on to be watched on youtube or their website.

Just had a look at the webcast and that is one heck of a sexy phone but questions are:

1) When is it going to be released in New Zealand?
2) Is it going to be on the Telecom XT Network?

I'm going to be waiting for the iPhone 5 announcement in 12 September but it will be pretty depressing if Nokia drags their feet getting the phone to New Zealand.

MacBook Pro 13.3" Mid-2012; iMac 3.4Ghz 27-inch (BTO) Late-2012; iPhone 5S 'Space Grey' (64GB); Airport Extreme Base Station 802.11ac; Draytek Vigor 130 VDSL2 Modem.

Both handsets are pentaband HSPA+ so they will work in any New Zealand network.
