I got my Lumia 920 yesterday from Telecom.  The people in the Telecom stores need training.  The very unhelpful woman there told me Telecom had no stock until the 16th December.  Not deterred by this I went online and ordered it from the Website and it arrived on Tuesday.  I figured once Warehouse Stationary were advertising them there must be some stock in the country and the Telecom website certainly didn't seem to think there was a stock shortage.

Anyway loving the phone.  Got my Xbox Music Pass which seems to work well though it is a bit of a learning curve making Playlists and syncing tunes to the phone but i'm getting there.  The MMS settings for VF took a while to get right till I found a helpful post in this forum.

I have only managed to spend an hour or so on the 920 so far but first impressions are all good, WP8 is a very different beasty to android but I think I am going to enjoy the experience, as for the phone it feels like a quality device, I like the weight of it, call clarity seems very good

Nope, can't replace devices that can play FLAC, do USB audio, and have card slots. Still interested to try one.

Slim shot at being a secondary device though, although if I'm going to accept limitations in the secondary device I'd probably take a Pureview 808 for the camera.

My versions are the same as everyone else's posted in the other forum.  I don't recall an update for extras+info but I do recall an update for something like SMS+Messaging which I have no idea what it did.

BTW I have to take back my appreciation of Xbox Music Pass.  It seems that my one month trial expired today and renewed to a paid service.  Now that wouldn't be so bad except now whenever I download a song to my phone it no longer plays and complains "We are unable to confirm the media usage rights....".  If I stream them no problem but download and play is serious broken :-(

Sure I have a nice data plan but I don't want to be streaming songs over 3G when i'm on the road.  Has anyone else hit this problem?  I'm going to sleep on it and hope it goes away but wondering if anyone else uses Xbox Music Pass and has transitioned from trial to paid account successfully.

It was all working perfectly yesterday.

Is anyone elses compass way way off in Nokia lens? Couple with calibration that seems to instantly return (not really convinced it is working correctly).

I'm a bit concerned that it may be a faulty unit, as by and large I've only seen reports on how good it is.

I didn't have the updates showing last night but jsut checked again and they are sitting there in the store ready to be downloaded

Have to say the transition from android to wp8 has been (touchwood) far less stressful than I thought it might be

On the Lumia 800 yes, on the 920 no... although some specific poi's aren't very accurate.

Regarding the reboots etc..

Although my own 920 has been fine apart from a single reboot, my wife's 920, purchased a few days later, also at the Telecom website, has the reset problem. It tends to require a soft-reset to bring it back (Volume+PWR).

Her phone also gets hot near the top rear and whilst checking that, I found that Wifi wasn't connecting so she was on 3G the whole time. It took another reboot to bring it back to normal.

I had a quick look and noted that the extras+info numbers are different on her device and are all earlier versions. The updates for her phone haven't showed up yet. I've had a couple of updates for mine since. Hard to say what triggers them, but I'm expecting they'll come in.

MS has also announced a fix in early Dec for the reset problem and I'm pretty confident things will come right as they did with the 800.
