GregV: Sounds like MF should investigate an affiliate link to MightyApe :p

Unlike the Amazon program, theirs pays only referrals on directly linked items - not attractive...

I don't mind MA, though their points system is a complete scam and don't expect it to change any time soon. I no longer purchase from them for that reason as I have MANY points accumulated over a period of time, and all I can get are posters and stupid child specific rubbish. I tried many times to contact them about it, and the MD Simon Barton was completely unsatisfactory in his responses about it.

They are safe to buy from and delivery is normally on target.

Very good place to shop, although the last purchase was a couple of Transformers items which I had planned to keep sealed. They stuffed them into a box that was too small destroying the packaging. I complained but got the cold shoulder..

So I cancelled my pre orders.

I think the "caring" attitude they had as a brick and mortar store has long since vanished and now every decision re customer service is balanced against cost.

Those were the days.. I still remember their store on Symonds street up by the motorway there. ;-)

After that they were on Dominion Road. I did a lot more business with them when they did that.

The dominion road store was awesome esp for game releases etc, and the odd impulse purchase of some Anime, and you just can't do the "impulse buy" online the same anymore ;)

kontonnz, exactly why I don't spend with them any more other than the points thing and the crap responses from their MD. The thing is, most of the retailers are in their space online so unless you need something only they sell, it's not like customer service will lead you back to them.

I used to spend about 3K with them annually.

I was initially gutted when they moved to Dominion Road - I had no car at the time and it was less convenient for me to get to.  ;-)

Oh, well for me it was right on my way home, and many Friday late PM's were spent there :)

One of the thing that really irritated me about the banana points is that I had collated so many that even being conservative my points were worth a few hundred, I asked them to swap them for 2 new release games at RRP, which would have been good value for both of us. I then asked them to give me a Mighty Ape membership for shipping for my points and they STILL declined. Who turns down a customer who is asking for something that would ultimately make it EASIER for them to spend even MORE money with you.

The one thing they've got going for them is that I hardly ever have to pay for shipping any more - they can't ship a single item out on time so I always get shipping refunded via their guarantee. Of course, the fact that they do have the guarantee is a major selling point for them.

I can generally find what I want for cheaper elsewhere but if I want something quickly I will usually buy from MightyApe, I once ordered something Friday afternoon and it arrived saturday morning :D

One of my favourite "elsewheres" is nzgameshop.com as their player points convert directly into dollars and can be used  on everything and they usually are the cheapest around (with free shipping on everything!)
