I have a PS3, which is where most of my games are but I wanted to play Guild Wars 2 so upgraded my PC and got it. However I kind of feel like I just upgraded it for the one game and seems a waste.

So I kind of fancy something else but most of my shooters etc. are on PS3. So kind of leaning towards a strategy game or a God Sim but maybe something that will look cool graphically but not something that requires lots of time as I'll be playing Guild Wars 2.

The ones I had in mind were:

Black and White 2 (Bit old now but loves the first one)
Supreme Commander 2 (Don't know if the single player is any good?)
Football Manager 2013 (Casual and fun taking a rubbish 3rd division team to the top but not exactly graphic intensive)
Sim City (The new one but not out till 2013, not sure if it is any good?)
Company of Hero's 2 (Out 2013 again but liked the first one)
X-Com Enemy Unknown (Out now and looks pretty sweet, just don't know if I 'get it')
Perhaps one of the Total War games but the last I played (Medevial 2) got boring but maybe the newer ones are better.

I highly recommend installing Steam and browsing through their massive lists of great games. Plus there's plenty of free demos to try before you buy.

Portal 1 and 2 are always good thinker games with a bit of story line. There are a bunch of user made maps/puzzles now too so replayability is higher.

I know it's not on steam (Or I don't think it is) but i played through Journey on the PS3 the other day and had fun. It's short, so cheap, and a little different. An interesting aspect is that during gameplay you come across other players playing through it at the same time as you. As in, it's online, and kind of multiplayer but you can't really interact much. I still feel a little bad but I was following one buy through a section and was a little slow and got us both 'caught' where if i'd just left him alone he would have been fine... oh well. At the end of the game it lists all the online players you've met along the journey.

I'm also working through The Unfinished Swan on PS3. It's easy, no action, just an interesting concept that looks nice whilst playing. Don't expect adrenaline though. Also, I know it's not PC but yeah, install steam, see what you like the look of and go from there.

Although not an immediate solution for you, games I am looking forward to are SimCity 5 and especially Grand Theft Auto 5.
