Mine, without a doubt would have to be TellTale's episodic tale of The Walking Dead.  It has been awhile since I've played a game where I actually gave a damn about the characters and the in-game choices I had to make.

Honorable mentions Halo4 and Mass Effect3.

havent played xbox in years, started playing last year, got through a bunch, not sure what year they all came out, my favourites were

- Witcher 2
- Dragon Age 2
- Dragon Age Origins (yeah this one is old)
- Mass Effect 1, 2, 3
- Gotham City Impostors (when it worked...)
- Prince of Persia TFS

Played a few others,
- Kindgoms of Amalur
- Final Fantasy XIII
- Amazing Spider-man
Didn't really like those ones

Skyim, it was good, got bored though, didnt really care for the story, played about 50 hours of it though.

DA2 would of been my favourite, if dungeons didnt werent repeated as much as they were (i know a lot of fans didnt like DA2, but I loved it and graphics were really really good IMO).
Mass Effect 1 i didnt like that much, story was good, gameplay wasnt. ME 2 and 3 gameplay = awesome story = awesome.
Witcher 2 was a surprisingly good game, only wish you could get witcher 1 on xbox...

I like RPGs, but sadly I think ive played all the good ones on xbox...

Hmm... I didn't buy any games at pre-order/release/full price in 2012.

I've started pretty much only buying "game of the year edition's" that come out a year+ later that include all the DLC in steam sales.

I guess I'm part of the longtail now.

Ignoring the ending of Mass Effect 3 (London->Credits) it was the best game ever. Aside from that I would have to say it's currently a tie off between Halo 4 and Pokemon: Black 2

Borderlands 2 was my fav especially for CO-OP. Black Ops II single player was pretty decent too, although way, way too easy to finish on Veteran difficulty.
