Has anyone else had prolems getting COD4 multiplayer working?

I've tried all sorts of stuff on both my router and firewall but the damn game won't authenticate me (yes its a legit copy!)

I can't see anything on the server browser and if I hit refresh it  just sits and thinks for ages before returning a blank list. I've seen on the net some ini file changes that increases the timeout period which I've done (now 60 seconds) but its still timing out. The only thing I can think of is making changes to my router for punkbuster or something...

firewall = kerio personal
router = linksys WAG54G
COD4 1.2 patched applied.

I haven't successfully created an online account yet nor seen any game servers. Any ideas?

Tried disabling the firewalls to see which is causing the problem. Disable the router one first to check. then disable kerio with the router firewall on, if that dosnt work disable both and try... eventually you will see the culprit and then no where to go from there

I haven't had any issues with COD connecting - but the in game server browser is a known problem.

either try a re-install

or run it without a firewall on at all to see if it is the firewall.

install xfire - then check the xfire server browser can see the servers. xfire will auto connect you to a selected server and avoids the long delays as ingame seeks the updated server list.

when you install. you are asked for the key. once it is installed - you can validate the unique key in one of the options area. profile i think?

for PB. download and install PB Setup - google it. install it to the PB directory and run it before connecting via game.

let me know if you want tweaks.
