Hi guys,

I have a notebook with 1gb of ram 2.4ghz and 64mb integrated graphics processor.  Iwanting to know what games I could run off this machine. For example I would love get company of heroes but not sure if it would run, I dont mind playing on lowest settings.  Cheers

p.s. dont say get a graphics card please, a simple yes or no answer with some detail would be fine.

CoH is a no go straight off with that small amount of video memory.

Youll be looking at sticking to games that are quite old now.....

Check out System RequirementsLab (google) - that installs an applet on your system and checks your specs against a list of games and lets you know what runs etc.

Yep you could play a number of older games.  Check out Steam.  I managed to get all the Quakes and original Half-life really cheaply and they run great on really low-end systems.  In theory you could play a lot of recent games too but with graphics turned all the way down - or pretty much off :)

Yea I just took a look at that system requirements website, I tried Simcity 4 which runs pretty well on my computer and it says it doesnt meet minimum specs.

True...but CoH struggles to run smoothly on a 3200+ with 256mb 7600 GS video card so it would be painful on 64mb shared RAM Tongue out

Some games do scale down nicely tho on older hardware....   others jsut run like crap regardless what you have.

Coming from someone who used the Intel GMA 900 for 2 years, it's really hard to play newer games with integrated .

CS:S was unplayable before I got an Nvidia 7300 LE.

I had 1.5GB ram, 3.06GHz processor, and still, lagged like hell. like 5 fps.

I could play combat arms, NFS Hot pursuit 2, Older games like NBA live 2005 etc. But to really run newer games you really need to get even and entry level graphics card. Depends if you have a PCI slot. (I'm sorry ! eeek ).
