Xbox 360 headphones recommendations?

Can anybody recommend some good headphones for Xbox?
Wireless preferred, price permitting. Wired would be acceptable as long as logistically ok; cannot leave headphones permanently plugged in due to childproofing requirements. Won't be practical to plug in at back of Xbox every time I want to use them. Xbox live chat support is prerequisite.

I've been looking at the Turtle Beach offerings, but I'm unsure about connectivity.?Xbox is connected directly to TV with HDMI. Audio goes direct to TV via same HDMI, no separate audio hardware is involved.

It looks like top end turtle beach wireless headphones use the optical audio output from the Xbox. Will the Xbox drive both the optical audio output and the audio via HDMI output simultaneously?

The turtle beach x31 has a 3.5 mm (analog?) input jack. Do I need some PITA breakout cable from Xbox AV output? Can Xbox drive both analog and HDMI audio simultaneously?

Turtle beach x41 looks very cool, optical audio input, but earlier question remains, will the xbox drive both outputs at the same time? But the x41 is crazy expensive. (although mightyape has it at the moment for 249, still pretty pricey)

Any other suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks,

Cheers,
Joseph

I use the X-11 Turtle Beach and find it great. I run a HTPC setup on a 50 inch Plasma which runs my PC Video and Audio through HDMI port on my graphics card and also have my 2 xboxs plugged in. My Slim 360 audio is connected to my tv. My tv is connected via it's optical out (spdif) to my home theatre system which in turn gives me great surround sound offerings from both my PC (with obvious correct audio formats) my Xbox and obviously my Home Theatre for when I play the occasional DVD.

When I play online with my xbox I plug the usb power cable for the X-11 into my PC which works fine. The Turtle beach headphones although not that cheap are worth every $$$ I spent on them.

The only time i fault them is when I don't have the headphones plugged in and I am talking away for a match wondering why everyone?s ignoring me hehe. I could only see the wireless options working even better (and at the price you pay for them they damn well better).

I honestly have not played with the headphones plugged into the Xbox directly so can't vouch for whether or not they are any good for the late night sneaky gaming sessions.

I also am in the market for a high end headset for gaming on a netbook and an xbox 360 and ps3 and watching blu ray on the netbook via an external blu ray drive I think I want true 5.1 surround rather than dolby headphone I would also be interested in any advice as well.

I have the X41 headset that I imported from ebay couple of years ago. Still use it to date with the Xbox 360. Wireless is just so much better. Make sure you don't put the base stand for the headphone near a wifi router or a microwave else you will hear static noises randomly.
