Alrighty, well I'm curious about something regarding steam, and the way it downloads. Now I'm curious about the fact its very flippy floppy with its download speeds. Always up and down never consistent.

Now What I'm wondering is this. With download managers (orbit specifically I'm referring to as its the one I've had the most experience with), you can setup so it downloads using multiple threads per download, in-order to say 'increase' the effective download speed.

What I'm wondering here is the same for steam, Although as steam does not support this, does anyone know of a program or something, which can hi-jack as per say the downloads from steam, and say 'create' multiple threads to increase ones effective speed.

I'm curious to know if someone has done this or if it just straight up not possible.

It may be all 'up and down' if your ISP has a cache so some stuff will be national and a lot faster than others

I dont believe Kiwilink has a Steam Cache server unfortunately. I've currently got a VPN running into Orcon servers, and I've started downloading from there which seems to be better.

But original question still remains.

Steam already downloads from multiple sources at the same time. Problem is that it does not seem very good at selecting the "best" sources to download from.

There is a steam sale on at the moment these normally result in the servers getting smashed and terrible speeds.
