So my partner has expressed an interest in getting one of these many fitness/sports training games that you find on the Kinect.

Anyone had much experience with these? Which ones are good/Which ones should I avoid?

More than likely I'll be signing up to the local video store and might hire a few and test them out, but would like to hear some peoples opinions on them.

We just play the Kinect Adventures one that came with the Kinect.

Tires me out pretty good. But then again, I am pretty lazy and not that fit :D

Haha yes I know the feeling. I should mention that I have both Kinect Sports season 1/2 (for me mainly) and Kinect Adventures (bit boring after having played it enough times over the last year). Def looking for something different.

If you want a good arm workout, download Fruit Ninja!

I have used Your Shape, Fitness evolved and I found it reasonably good. What I have found is that these kinect games are just like a workout DVD except the person on the screen tells you when you are doing it wrong, and there is more variety than you'd get in a DVD. You can choose from different workouts and that adds to the variety and you get less boredom. So you're theoretically more likely to continue doing it.

Kinect is however income biased because you need a certain distance between the sensor and your feet, and some living rooms simply don't have enough space unless you rearrange the furniture. DVD's have the advantage there.

Some of the kinect games to avoid - just look at the reviews on amazon.  Take the ratio of 5 star to 1 star.  You should be looking at at least 3:1, anything less than that is likely to be buggy.

Dance Central.

Got Kinect Adventures and Carnival (something) with the Kinect. They're okay I guess, but, novelty wears off quite quickly.

Dance Central has longer staying power IMHO.

Mass Effect 3 was a good one...made me get up FOUR times to change the disc!

Thanks for the replies. I got the Carnival game as well and that has definitely worn thin on me as well.

I have heard Your Shape, Evolved is one of the better ones and the new Nike+ is also good. Space isn't really an issue for us. Our lounge is plenty big enough for 1 or 2 people in front of the kinect.

As for ME3 and changing the disks 4 times. I know what you mean!
