You asked for it and here it is folks.

This is for those of you who like to gab or are like Grant, whose wife does.

You can now order all of the SuperCap bundles on your VFX account. If you have more than one VFX line, you will not have to pay attention to which one the caps apply to because the bundle will sit over the account rather than the individual line.

For those of you who have three lines or more and are paying for local calls, be advised that local minutes will accrue toward your 1000 minutes.

If you use up more than the allocated number of minutes, then additional calling will be rated at the VFX pricing as per normal. Standard access customers pay a higher per minute rate than VFX customers. For instance national, Australian, US, UK, Canada, China and more are all priced at 5 cents per minute inclusive of GST.

For those or you who have not seen the SuperCap Bundles, there are three of them that offer over 16hours of calling to many destinations. There is also a fixed line to mobile bundle where you can pay a flat rate of $29.95 for 200 minutes which equates about .15cents per minute including GST. Like the other bundles, calls made after the 200 minutes are used up will rate at the normal VFX rates.

Go to http://www.wxc.co.nz/tolls/ or call 0800-123-456 and that sales team will answer any questions you may have.

Are there any plans to introduce more standard calling caps eg: talk for up to two hours, capped at $1.99 like the wxc POTS tolls service?   Ta..

At this stage there are no plans to  package old fashion the two hour capped calls. They continue to be available to standard toll bypass customers.

My hope is that the carriage cost of moving calls around New Zealand will eventually make it affordable to offer subscribers all you can eat toll services as part of the basic monthly subscription fee. This is what the SuperCaps are leaning toward.

When the rest of the service providers catch up and are able (and willing) to support VoIP peering, WxC will package  a flat fee product. At the end of the day, your voice is simply a bunch of "ones & nones" getting turned into "hellos & goodbyes". It is a ways off, but there will come a time when metered per minute calls are a thing of the past.

Undecided
VFX remains a more expensive solution than POTS.

I don't agree that Vfx is more expensive.

I rarely make national calls for more than 40 minutes which at .05 cents a minute equals the $1.99 cap currently offered through Wxc tolls.

Most of my calls would be around 10-15 minutes at most. Therefore with vfx I am only paying on average .50-.75 cents a call.

If capped calls were introduced the rate may also increase to .14 cents as per wxc tolls. My 10-15 minute calls would then cost me $1.40-$1.99.

I think for the average home user vfx would be a pretty good option as it is.

I agree with Marmel. The capped calls are an incentive to talk longer but you still have the higher per minute rate until you hit the capped call time / amount. Our toll bill has decreased significantly since taking on VFX as we make lots of calls but for a shorter duration. Everyone will have different calling patterns I suppose. The 0.05 c / per minute works for us.

Agreed.  If someone was to make more than 400 minutes worth of National Toll calls per month ($20 on VFX) then it would be worth signing up for SuperCap @ $19.95 and effectively get the next 600 minutes free for the month.

Another way of looking at it is to say:  $19.95 for 1000 minutes of calls = 2c per minute Cool

I haven't heard of any better deals than that!

I don't believe so but it is the age old problem of trying to please everyone I'm afraid, everyone has different requirments based around internet and phone usage as well as their calling areas, we belive we have covered a great range of options and have a product that will be competative in pricing & services and will be a viable option for a lot of people, by adding these supercap options to Fusion / VFX it is we belive a great product with great value for money.

However we obviously can't please everyone and people are definetly more than entitled to express their opinion here, this is what forums are for after all to see both sides the good and the bad, however we will always have people that want more for less and no matter what we try to do or offer there will be criticism of the products, it will never be cheap enough unless we give it away for free, we expect it actually. But what we look to do is offer our customers the best value for money and I personally believe that not to many can beat our products in overall services and pricing, I have also said before and say again if we don't have products or services that suit there are a few other options out there thats why competition is a good thing it helps drive pricing as well as products and services,

It will be interesting to see what others think of the offerings

That's very cool!!

I don't make many tolls, and usually short, so the current non caped is great for my needs. This will be great savings for some of my customers though.

Look forward to the days of no more tolls!
