I was disappointed today to find out WorldXChange have no process in place to deal with non-telecom provided home lines.

When I called today to move to Fusion I was told I would have to move back to Telecom before the application could be processed.

I'm not prepared to hassle Telecom with setting up an account, so guess I'll be waiting for Naked DSL after all...

I believe that it is not a WxC issue.  As far as I know at this stage no company can do that until Telecom Wholesale has the processes in place, just like currently no ISP can get more than 50 nDSL applications processed per day.

You can never have enough Volvos!

The sales person at WxC said "we don't have the processes in place" so I assumed it was a WxC issue...

Expect you're right, jet another telecom delay tactic. Shame they don't want any customers back - ever. Maybe I will hassle them with the move back after all...

It's $49.95 to move back to them as a friend who was conned into moving to telstra clear found out.

Care to back that malice up with some evidence? Or is it just a troll?

These are early days. Just like the WorldxChange-customer link solution, it takes time to resolve some of these issues.

Appreciate it's early days still - I'm merely an early adopter who's tried everything to lower my landline rentals and can see the benefits of N-DSL ($$)

So you assumed that it was an act of malice rather than just an early limitation that will probably be worked around? You are still paying for broadband and the copper cable, just not the PSTN voice service...

Yes I've done the figures and will only save about $10-20 per month, but over time that will add up...

Having used VFX on a new secondary line I'm really looking forward to all the digital advantages on my primary line. i.e. Free caller id, free voicemail, free call waiting, etc - worth another $12 or so to me...

I realize PSTN is more reliable but this isn't a draw card to me personally, and we wouldn't use two lines long term.

No problem. I'll just wait patiently...

I'm in the same boat as you except that I tried to be smart and did the whole customerlink process through telstra only to find out that i couldnt be given a dummy number....

waiting for the new ajax provisining/wireline system to become active in mid feb i guess...  then hopefully these early adopter issues will be a thing of the past
