maverick: Hope you like this revison, once again looking for feedback, but please remember this is not new services it is just a desktop app that allows another form of control for your current VFX service.

Yes, the new Messaging tab is great, it covers everything I would need under normal circumstances.

Regarding the new Manage Settings Online button, it works fine, but I was disappointed that I needed to login again.  Having logged in to VFX Manager, I expected that my "logged in" status would have transferred to the portal, but it didn't.  Minor point though.

One other very minor gripe:

-  The previous version had a nice green phone icon when it was minimised to the System Tray (similar to the program icon)

-  The new version has a funny blue disc that looks more like a CD than anything to do with VFX.

It would be nice if the previous icon could have been retained Tongue out

It's actually the World Globe from the main Logo on the web logon page Laughing, as for the logon this was more a security matter and the way the details are passed to the web server, so probably not something we will be changing at this timeI'm afraid Grant.

I also preder the previous Skype-like system tray icon.  How can we change it (getting to old to search the registry and ini files to hack it, just asking streight up).  Thanks.

Here's a new version of the VFX Manager application that fixes a couple of minor issues.

Windows

http://www.xnet.co.nz/downloads/vfx/VFXManagerSetup.exe

Linux
http://www.xnet.co.nz/downloads/vfx/VFXManager_0.3-1_i386.deb

Apple
http://www.xnet.co.nz/downloads/vfx/VFXManager.pkg.zip

Due to popular demand, we've changed the icon, but not back to the old one
Wink
The windows version also registers itself as VFX Manager 0.3 instead of just 0.2 in the Add/Remove Programs.
If the application is open and hidden behind another window, double clicking the taskbar icon will bring the application to the front.

Also note that I have changed the capitilisation of the Linux and Mac versions to be more consistant accross all platforms, so the download link is slightly different.

The next thing that will be worked on is handling multiple accounts.

Cheers,
Scott.

I've got a problem with the messaging Tab.

When I try to make any changes to "Email Voice Notification" or "Email copy of message to"  the changes don't stick.

They appear to save but if you open the manager again, or check in the web portal, they haven't changed.

If I update in the webportal the changes do stick and then show up in the manager

Did you get any error messages popping up?
Does it take a long time to save or is it pretty quick?

I've just tried it myself and it definately saved all of the fields in the Messaging tab.

Cheers,
Scott.

No Errors. Saved quite quickly, just like saving anything else

I also have this problem..

Type is my email address under "Email Copy of Voice Message to"

Tick the box

Hit save

Takes 8-10 sec to save

Leave it for a few secs

then hit Refresh

and the Tick box unticks itself.

(running WinXP SP2 - VFX Manager 0.3)

I've fixed the issue with the messaging tab not always saving the changes. This was usually when you blank out the email address, it wasn't saving.

I have also sped up the saving process a bit, so that it only saves changes that were made instead of saving everything.

Just had vfx installed, when adding a criteria to a call notify I get the following error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "vfxmanager.py", line 172, in OnAddClick
File "vfxmanager.py", line 217, in LoadData
File "wx\_controls.pyc", line 1709, in SetValue
TypeError: String or Unicode type required

VFX working nicely :)

maverick - I notice this has been released under the GPL - so can you please provide the source code so those of us not using deb-based distros can play?

Cheers!

To maverick I say "told ya so" :-p (see post 157728

To ccar063, you have to enter your address, push the save button at the top of the window, then add the criteria.
