I will never be a customer, or refer any family/friends to xnet ever again, directly becuase of them charging me for a full month of usage when my internet had been moved over to a new ISP. They said Telecom charge us, so we have to charge you.... this is rubbish! Telecom wouldn't charge two ISP's for the same line. Goodbye xnet....

Yeah but it seems like Xnet just decide to ignore the win back notification from Telecom and keep charging until the customer specifically calls to cancel the account, at least in my experience this is what they do.

Slightly different problem with the reverse result! In early march my mother was moving from one property to another. There was a few weeks between moving out and moving into the new property, so we did not call Xnet until the day ofter she moved out of the old property. We found that the new people who were moving in a few days later had asked for the internet to be put on a day before mum moved out. Mum's account was canceled by the new tenant's provider. If she wanted to be connected again with Xnet she had to re-apply. This was not going to be an option as the plan she had been on has been discontinued and the current plans on offer were far more than she required and a lot more money. I found it amazing that another provider can cancel your account without your consent. Obviously Xnet do get disconnection notifications.

Weird, I thought that Xnet had removed the 30-day contract sign in? I've been told it's 5 days before hand and then it closes? And I just reverified(moving back to telecom for better you tube playlist performance...while I do my summer gardening) and I've been told Telecom churned the VFX number on teh 22nd and gave a close notification and that they'll get a message today when my broadband gets churned and that my bill period and final bill ends on the 30th :) although I'll double check that tonight and get in writing/email the final close verification etc I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Well mine just churned over, ringing up Xnet for final bill + getting it in writing that it's terminated, with no fee's for October. Also, if anyone saw the speedtest thread from last week, where i got 0.8 down, 0.6 up :S Also thought it would be a good idea to run some normal NZ tests: Slingshot NZ Test: Xnet 3.8mbp down, 0.7 up Telecom 11.9 down, 0.8 up Consumerspeedtest.org.nz Xnet 4.3mbp down 0.6 up Telecom 12.7 down, 0.8 up Happy Chappy :) For now at least I have moved across the ditch. Got my close confirmation today :) woohoo Final bill dated to the 25th September, no charges at all after that!!!!! AWESOME! I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.
