logicalit: I think you need to add a voip PABX and some sip trunks.. You're missing the oppertunity to use UM on your home LAN...

that might involve talking to someone, that's far to close to human interaction for me ;-)

My lan/network setup is now nothing but a sole EEEpc, a 1TB external hard drive and a phone used as a modem, I could be migrating so don't need to have extra stuff.

I'm starting to have a life again, I did this at the start of the year and has left me with a lot more LAN time of late..

I foolishly thought I could migrate ISA 2006 to the new 2008 Server, this was not the case so I'll try Forefront, however, can anyone recommend a Linux distribution that fulfills the same requirment. I'm planning to use it as a failover solution for the Forefront server during the beta period.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I'm seeking an ISA equivalent to run in paralel as a fail-over mechanism while trialing the Forefront beta.

Why AS/400? It's fun and trendy! Nothing makes the ladies swoon like a 400kg computing archive!

I *know* a woman that 'swoon'ed over an AS400! She is a service delivery manager I was delivering service.. under.. anyways, as400 went for a little trip from a Datacentre in Dunedin to a datacentre in Auckland. It all went real well... considering the weight and fragility (sp?) of the box. The SDM did swoon over the as400 when the datacentre gnomes in Auckland could not power it up because... the 'keys' had not been shipped.

Tradaa!

Your. basement.. does it look like this? (Party Invite pLease)

Lyonrounge - are you like in a huge flat, have heaps in the family or just host LAN's etc? That network is pretty damn complicated even for a small-medium business.

Just my wife and I. She can't be bothered with computers. I'm from an IBM background, then had a job in a windows shop for a while and as I knew nothing about windows I had to learn quickly, hence why I built up a domain and it has grown since then.

Heres the gaurage

and the LAN for playing games (4 against 4)
