http://www.raspberrypi.org/ The Raspberry PI Model B now has 512MB of RAM for $35 each. I have ordered two of these today. Apparently Element 14 / Farnell are shipping right away while RS appears to have a 2 month lag (judging by the comments on the web site). I ordered via Element 14...then read the comments. Whew! If you're not curious, your brain is already dying...if not dead. I wasn't going to bother with 256MB of RAM....but 512MB lifts these wee computers into a new realm. If you're not curious, your brain is already dying...if not dead. The 2 x Raspberry PI Model B devices (with 512MB) I ordered from "element14" arrived from Australia 24 hours after being ordered. That was fast. :-) If you're not curious, your brain is already dying...if not dead. I ordered mine yesterday so I'm looking forward to playing with it this weekend. It's just a shame all the cases are now out of stock, but there is nothing more g33ky than running a PC without a case! *Need help configuring your Linksys ATA or IP Phones for New Zealand? Check my blog post

Anybody have recommendations for SD cards to use/avoid? I recall some people complaining of issues with some cards. *Need help configuring your Linksys ATA or IP Phones for New Zealand? Check my blog post

I'm sure there are plans out there for a lego case so if you have some bricks at Biddle corp, then you can at least in the short term, case up the pi in lego

i can recommend a apacer 8gb class 10 sd card. ive got 2 of these and they work fine with my pis. www.reven.co.nz

Looks like XBMC install process has been made easy and 512MB RAM makes it even better. Buying this purely for XBMC to play H.264/mkv files. License is dirt cheap to buy from rasberrypi's website. Microsoft\|Outlook\|Skydrive\|Windows Live Admin Center\|Skype\|Office Web Apps\|Office 365\| Windows Phone\|Windows 8\|Xbox\|Hyper-V\|Office2013\|Bing\|Security Essentials\|Server 2012

I ordered a Pi from Element 14 on Oct 4th. I was put on back order as they were out of stock. It is now the 18th and I still haven't received anything, yet all you lot are getting them within 24hours of ordering!! Plus - I am nervous I am going to receive one of the old 256MB versions, even after specifically calling and emailing Element 14 and being assured I would receive the latest version. They said mine has been dispatched from the UK on Oct 13 and should take 7-6 days. Why haven't they just sent me one from Oz?! BTW - I ordered a case at the same time (Oct 4) and that turned up this week, so at least I got lucky there!

I'd guess they were out of stock in OZ and got one sent from the UK...and can't now send you a new one as one is already on the way...and it probably will be one of the 256MB models. Boundaries....sometimes you're on the right side and sometimes you're not. Order another one. It will arrive from OZ the next day and certainly be 512MB. They are cheap enough it's probably worth it to avoid the annoyance of your long-awaited one arriving and being 256MB. I've already sold one of my two to a co-worker.... Bugger! Just had confirmation the unit being shipped from the UK will be the 512MB version. Guess I have two of these little beauties now. Looks like Trademe will be getting some more fees off me...
