Hi All,

I was hoping there's a resident burgler alarm installer here, or someone who has a some experience with burgler alarms

We recently bought a house which has been pre-installed with a Paradox Spectra 1728 alarm system (1686H keypad). The installers kindly changed the installer/master code free of charge (thanks Chubb Auckland, NZ).

I've set it up quite nicely with new codes and working fine.

One thing I have not managed to figure out, is that there is no entry beep what so ever. Delay is set up, and it works, but there is no audible beep. I can't find a setting in the manuals how to change this either?

On a side note, the exit-beep is very short as well. The beep starts as soon as the code is entered, but it stops a few seconds after (but the exit delay is still running). It almost looks like the beeping stops as soon as a PIR does not detect motion anymore (but does not start beeping again when motion is detected).

Are there any settings I have overlooked?  It's kinda annoying and already forgot about turning off the alarm twice (which results in a very lound reminder "beep" ;)

Thanks
J

I have one of those and it beeps when entry and exit delays are going. I looked at my manual and section 5 Additional Features talks of setting Chime zones. If you hold a number button down for 3 sec it will activate or deactivate the chime zone for that button numberered zone.

Good luck!

Heyz,

Sorry for late replay.  I've tried that before and I believe that setting is just to let you know that someone is entering that zone when un-armed.  Regardless, I've tried and makes no difference.

I've read through all the docs multiple times now and can't find a thing about it. Surely it must be listed somewhere.

Maybe I'll just reset the whole thing so I know I'm starting from default settings.

Cheers
J.

Thanks!!! That's the one I was looking for! I can't understand I did not find that in the manual(s). I've gone to all of them multiple times. I'll go and look again as I feel stupid now but.

I knew I would get an answer here sooner or later.

Cheers
J
