NZCoderGuy: Not true.. Vodafone have 35 units for outright sale tonight :)

Read the red ticket again...

50 first customers will be put into a draw and 35 out of them will be drawn to purchase outright..

I think that is what the :) is all about........

That is very impressive that you can get people to queue at midnight to go into the draw to win the chance to buy a full priced product. I would say that apart from apple no one else on the planet could draw a crowd like that.

wellygary: So let me get this right,

Vodafone have got 35 black 16GB iphones for sale , BUT they will not sell them to you unless you go into a draw..... talk about utter fail

Was in Hong Kong last w,end.
They had a ballot ,& the winners(1 in every 100) got the chance to queue.
Walked past morning & night  & the queue was still out the door.
Had a quick play , about one icon row longer & noticeably thinner.
Maps found my address in NZ by just entering the suburb , but I could not make it zoom like the Google map

Nearly had a heart attack just then - I'm using a Firefox add-on to detect changes in the Apple website pages and it went off. Turns out they'd just added the lightning adapter to the iPhone sales page.

True, you can always pick one up from a retailer and cancel apple order before it ships if things change and they sell them outright. Need 12 from 5.
