Strongbad1905: Yeah I'm happy to wait for a quality iPhone 5. I hope the news I just read of strike at Foxconn doesn't chuck a spanner in the works tho.

And as I said my date hasn't changed and I'm waiting on the 32gb white.

Must admit, I even looked at getting one on contract today just to break it in the end, to get the device but of course that is a costly exercise.

Some of the auction sites have them listed at some ridiculous prices, but that isn't a surprise I guess.

Boo.

Patience is a virtue! One I'm finding very hard. LOL

Telecom and VF will be selling them to us sooner rather than later. They will want the markup (whatever it is) rather than letting Apple have it.

Patience is a virtue lol

I'll be willing to put money they don't i would say mid nov. Remember apple did say they were going to be in 100 countries before the end of the year so wont leave much freed up stock.

I was in Newmarket today so stopped by Telecom and Yoobee. They both had demo units and I assume stock, but both unfortunately said it would be at least a month before they sell outright. Now these were just salespersons so they're probably not privy to any information about selling them earlier, but it can't be soon if nobody gave me any hints.

Stopped by DSE today and found out that they're going to be the first retailer in NZ to sell the iPhone 5 outright, but they're not sure exactly when. Have been told mid-October but he said he thinks around the end of October.

The good thing is that by the time our 5's actually arrive, there will be some improvements to maps, and in NZ too!

Statue of liberty is still not in 3d for me. Strange that it is showing for some and not others

An article about the Foxconn strike, as a result of increasing manufacturing standards and QA.

Statue is working for me

Initially it didn't and I had to close the maps out of the multitasking pane to get it to work
