Having switched from android to iOS (iPad) something I noticed was the distinct lack of reviews and ratings on almost every single app in the store.

On android many apps have thousands of ratings and hundreds of reviews because it gives you the global stats, but with iOS only the mainstream apps have more than a few dozen, and most apps have no reviews and, at best, one or two ratings.

It seems to be the case that only NZ reviews/ratings show up, which is pretty annoying as it makes it very difficult to judge anything about an app without searching out a detailed review online (a pain when wading thorugh hundreds of search results), whereas on Android you could, at least, get a rough idea of sorting the apps that have potential from the ones that are absolute dross.

Any way to fix this to show global stats/reviews without having to switch back and forth between location settings all the time?

One thing I have noticed is that many apps in the NZ iTunes store don't have ratings but the same app in the US store will have ratings. Try doing a google search for the app and go to the US store link google will provide.

This. I normall search 'app name' itunes in search engine and it always ends up showing me the US store's page for that app which has ratings and reviews.

I think app reviews are version specific also, so if App 1.1 is released, it will not show the reviews for version 1.0

Cheers,
