Currently using an iphone 4s and trying to tether it to my ipad. Prior to ios6 there was absolutely no problems, now the ipad shows it as connected  (with the link in the top left) but cannot actually use the connection.
IS anyone else having similar issues? I'm on telecom for my iphone.
Cheers
LMD

Looks like it is a known issue with the fix being waiting for an iOS6 software upgrade

Apparently apple has stopped digitally signing off on 5.1.1 so the rollback option wont be available.

Have you tried "forgetting this device" on both the iPhone and iPad and then rejoining them? For me getting bluetooth pairing and tethering between iPad's and iPhones has always been hard to get going. But once connected and working they seem to work flawlessly from then onwards.

DArn, thanks for that.
looks like I'll be waiting impateintly for apple to fix this then :-(

Also tried to forget network in the settings and still have the same problem.
Incidentally Ive also found that the ipads wifi connectivity to the router at home has turned abit sour as well, connecting at such slow speeds to make the internet painful.
Oh well... more fuel to get a S3 I suppose :-)

Yeah, I have the same problem. My iPad keeps dropping WiFi, won't tether and the battery drains out so fast the damned thing is hardly usable.

I just don't understand why Apple has removed the digital signature from 5.1.1. All your devices belong us seems to be the Apple way :-(

The fix I found that worked...and don't ask me how...was to change your standard internet APN to the word "Internet" and then restart your device. Initially was skeptical but can vouch for the validity.
