sxz: Wow - best app ever!

is this what android is like?  Maybe I need to go android...

A lot of google apps on android are like it. Makes apple maps look old fashioned, although the old google maps on ios was using apples own designed interface.

It's pretty slick, I like the interface, and it's super fast!

They really upped their game with this app. Turn by turn for my now ancient iphone 4, no need for Siri. Have no excuse to upgrade to iPhone 5, I feel kinda torn by that.

And even then you're likely to break some background dependencies.  Just put it in a folder with the other apps you never use - we've all got one of those :)

Tried it coming to work this morning. One problem with it - my charger cant keep up with the battery drain nd dropped 6% on my half hour journey. So on a long journey this might actually drain the phone completely. This is on an iPhone 5. Other than that I like it.

Car charger? sounds like you have a lower wattage car charger than you need... I know they typically have 5 or 10 watt chargers for cars...

I get "not available in this region" when I try it in Auckland or Tauranga (I know that Google has the data for Tauranga).

I can easily do it in android, but how do you save an offline copy of the map? Is that feature even available?
