There's only one change that REALLY upsets many star wars fans: http://www.hanshootsfirst.org/index.htm I think I still have my original copies on VHS kicking around somewhere (and the remastered VHS versions)

Ive got boxed (4 DVDs) set - "First Time on DVD" (2004 ?) - so confused about all the diff releases etc, no idea if this has additions etc or not :) Some info Ive read says its original theatrical release, others say its the "improved" version... IIRC only watched it once when it was given to me. XPD / @DemiseNZ / Gavin Website CPU : Intel E5300 GFX: Geforce 9800GTX/+ RAM: 3GB DDR2 A+ - MCDST - MCTS CCNA Arriving soon.

The 2004 DVDs have most of the changes. I have a copy of the old Laserdiscs somewhere, which as far as I know are identical to the theatrical releases.

The DVDs are out of stock... I know the ones I have here have a couple of added scenes - I watched the movies last week. I was 2 months old when starwars came out :) I am gonna get the BluRay of episode 4,5,6 for Christmas from the missus and have been researching what one to get too. Believe there were 3 different releases - originals, 2004 cleaned up release (where the lightsabers look a bit munted) and redigitized ver in 2007. The later ones I think it does take a little away from the story - eg changing anakin at the end and the stupid jabba the hutt changes... but the cleaned up special effects are probably gonna push me to getting the new one. some good screenshots of the differences here: http://www.dvdactive.com/editorial/articles/star-wars-the-changes-part-one.html/ [Edit: made the link clickable]
