NOTE: This is not a currently working PS3. It suffers from YLOD (Yellow Light of Death). It turns on, but immediately beeps and briefly flashes a yellow light, then has a constantly flashing red light.

Selling as is, where is.

Would be good for parts, or anyone who is willing to attempt to re-flow the motherboard.

Blu-ray drive also doesn't work. I suspect it is the Blu-ray drive logic board, as I temporarily replaced the laser assembly with a new assembly which didn't fix the Blu-ray drive. The laser assembly currently in the Blu-ray drive is the original assembly.

This PS3 was a replacement/refurbished unit for my original PS3 which failed with a YLOD back in July 2009. Sony gave me this refurbished unit in August 2009.

Model: CECHG02

The plastic grilles on the air exhaust at the back have been cut out to improve airflow. (see photo)

There are a few minor/medium scratches on the body/case.

It comes with the original 40GB hard drive. The hard drive has been taken out and securely wiped using dban, then re-installed into the PS3.

Warranty sticker has obviously been VOIDed/taken off the screw plate when testing new laser assembly.

Comes with power cable and original A/V Multi Out cable (RCA composite video + Left and Right audio)
Does NOT come with controller.

Price: $40
Pick-up Dunedin (or could arrange shipping with buyer to rest of NZ)
