Hi, new to hifi and after a bach stereo, nothing amazing but loud enough for outdoors and decent enough for quiet enjoyment indoors

A pair of Bookshelf speakers will probably be enough, so after those and a receiver with enough to power them loudly and a CD-changer (middle aged people who dont stream music or use ipods much etc)

Budget is $800max, looks like I can pickup the above on trademe for $500-600ish

Im in Taupo and can arrange pickup in Auckland and maybe Palmy or Wgtn

ONKYO TX-SR707 THX 7.2 Receiver (good power, powered second zone for outdoor speakers at a later date, HDMI and home theatre to boot, burr-brown dacs... anything else?? on second thoughts i might just get that myself :) )

Great little bookshelf speaker - good solid bass

Cheap as chips (although i think you'd be best to digitise your music and just run a little ipod)

Good start for a bach system right there.
