I'm after some Ultra 160 SCSI drives. Any size as long as they are not SCA drives :)

Also after P3 server CPUs - 1266MHz according to the server BIOS...

And a massive longshot but if anyone has any PowerEdge 1655MC blades/integrated switches lying around, that would be awesome too.

I'll have a hunt tonight if I remember.. I think I have some drives, and possibly some CPU's (I may have gotten rid of them when I got rid of my last P3 servers thou)

Yes as long as the connector is compatible. Should go without saying that the system will operate at the speed of the slowest device on that scsi chain.

Yes, should be fine. From memory both standards use LVD, and the same connectors, the drives will just slow down to U160 speeds.

On a related note.. All U160 drives have an SCA connector. I've generally found most people only call the 80 pin ones "SCA" drives thou.

If you look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_Connector_Attachment, I'm assuming you want 68 pin + seperate power drives rather than 80 pin drives?

Yep you are correct, I'm after 68 pin + separate power

Can you not use some of these?

http://discountechnology.com/80pin-to-68pin-U320-SCSI-Adapter

or are they in a caddy / backplane that doesn't allow that?

Yep that would probably work but I've already sorted the 4x 18GB drives above, which are perfect for my needs :)
