Hi there,

Calling to all the phone network and paranormal experts to try and help me figure out what happened!

Last night, at about 3am, we receive a call from France on our landline. After telling off the caller for waking us up at 3am, they let us know that they thought WE called them as the phone rang on their end as well... They are family so we have no reason to doubt them...

Facts that might help (or not):
- This person had tried to call us on our landline at about 9pm the night before but even though or phone was ringing, when we picked up, we were hearing weird noises. In the end, we called them on Skype..
- Our phone has a "night" feature that should prevent it from ringing between say 23:00 and 07:00 so I am not sure why it actually rang at 3am...

Does anyone has any clue as to what might have happened so I can satisfy my curiosity?

Thanks,

Guillaume

Unfortunately I have similar behaviors between 11pm-5am, from indian numbers prefixed +80. Annoying in the extreme! And no real way of stopping short of moving to a reliable VoIP service (yet to find one) or the more choption option of turning the ringer off.

I think he was meaning he could not find one as he is only allowed to look in one place (no names) :-)

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their ADSL broadband network faster. Why not spend a couple of hundred to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
Geekzone special price: $150* for master splitter install, normally $200+ through your ISP. Auckland and Waikato areas.
*Travel charges may apply. Additional costs may apply for complex installs.
I install - Naked DSL, DSL Master Splitters, VoIP, RBI Rural Broadband. Also a dealer for WorldxChange.

back on topic folks.... debating the relative 'service' offerings of the tier 1's is a bottomless pit of opportunity, and still won't answers the OP's questions...

For both phones to have rung at the same time would probably mean a smart service from either one of your phone providers would have initiated the calls, most likely the best way to see which service caused it is see who gets billed for it. Then you can take it up with the provider who billed.

Is that back on topic ....

Good point. Thanks for that. I will have a look to see who gets billed.

Thanks

obviously your house has spirits in it and they want you to talk to your family over in France more but got the time a bit wrong...

clearly the only logical explanation.
