Hey ppl,

I just got one of these units today, goes well but I can't make the Live services work (traffic, weather, etc)

I've gone through the support pages and done things like a hard reset, confirmed the unit is getting a signal from the vodafone network, etc but it keeps saying I need a subscription.

I was on the understanding that this came with a 1yr license to use live services.

I assume I'm meant to go into the settings and add my tomtom account login into it, I've tried adding an alternate one in but no luck.

When I tried going into live services without having a login in the unit I was getting errors like it can't connect to server and also sometimes an error code which I think was 1560

Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried ringing tomtom support but appears they don't like working weekends.

thanks

Yep, I was using a different Tomtom device (VIA160) and noticed it uses the same software hence just plugged this one in and it seemed ok with that

ok have ripped the software off the laptop and hard reset the unit
software reinstalled, not entered any user info this time into the tomtom unit

If I go services > My Services I'll get within half a min a red-border error number 1506

I've found where to check if its getting a vodafone signal and getting 2/5 bars if i hold it up (in the matamata coverage area at present)

Resolved the issue by returning the unit back to where I got it from and got another one, going good now :)

I noticed that the Traffic on it doesn't update overly fast compared to what is on AA Roadwatch:

e.g I'll plot a route between Hamilton and Wellington making sure it goes through Waiouru, it will do it with no problem however if I look at AA Roadwatch most of the central roads are closed due to snow at present.

i signed up on line with an account and then once i logged on to my tomtom it allowed me to use the service. i think the biggest flaw is the tomtom not being easy to use.  My biggest beef at the moment is SH18 / SH16 got alterered in a major way weeks ago and no spring update to cover his...
