Has SLingshot changed their pricing for their home line in the last 4-5 months? I see if you have BB with them its only $41, but if you dont, its $51. I'm currently being charged $51 a month even though i have broadband...? Ideas? This is a signature.

Yip, same here. Have BB and homeline with them, and still getting charged $51. Don't tell me this is another "only for new customers" kind of thing again. Le sigh In other news, they still haven't fixed their VisiBill SSL cert warning. An ISP that can't seem to fix a weak signature algorithm certificate problem. Hmmm.... It's been like that for months as well. Back on topic. Perhaps it's regional, or LLU related?

So I rang... and it turns out that if you are connected to the Slingshots network then you get $41 (Slingshots RED network or something) This is a signature.

Well I wonder how you'd work it out. I am in the Auckland region. How would you work out if you are on Wholesaled connection? I'm not saying I don't believe the guy I spoke to at Slingshot, but I just want to be sure I'm not paying more money than I should. This is a signature.

Yeah, its not as easy as it used to be. They used to have a whole set of plans for customer's on their "better network" (ULL broadband), so you would just check your bill to see if you are. Based on chucking in a few different addresses, this is my take on homeline prices (i think these are all if you have broadband: $42 in Chch/Wgtn/Akl (wholesaled) $41 if on their "better network" (ULL) $51 elsewhere. Further complicating things is that you may be in their "better network" area, but on a wholesaled connection, so if you enter your address on their website it will tell you the better network price, which is incorrect if you are on a wholesaled connection. If you are in urban greater Auckland (Im in Chch, dont know how you folk describe it..) then might be worth giving them a second call and seeing if you qualify for the regional discount on your phone (as per my thread linked above). If you have been with SS for a while, then Im sure you know how inconsistent their CSRs can be!

If you check the fixed charges page on visibill you should still be able to see which you're on. For example: "VBA Phone Lines" seems to indicate an LLU-type phone service, while "UCLL Access" and "Wholesale Jetstream" should be fairly straightforward. rm *

Hi guys, Slingshot offers homeline at a few different prices depending on Network availability and regional pricing for Telecom Wholesaled lines. Slingshot UCLL as well as Vodafone LLU are $41 per month. Telecom wholesaled Lines are $51 per month standard but depending on where you are we are able to offer you regional pricing which can be as low as $45. I put my address into the website and it said that my landline should cost $42/month but it's still charging us $51. i really don't understand. we're on a cabinet within the shirley exchange area in christchurch. not sure if slingshot has gear in the exchange but I'm not wanting to have my connection put all the way back to the exchange if that's what needs to be done to make it cheaper.

You do need to call to check if you are eligible as this is a new service we offer and we are not applying it to each existing account unless requested. You can also be on a Slingshot VOIP line and a Telecom Wholesaled Broadband service now which allows the cheaper phone.
