Has anyone else noticed that there are now only 3 days (not 3 business days either) from invoice date to due date? I only noticed this as my credit card expired, and went to pay manually and was surprised to find it was already overdue.

Going back through invoices, it seems that there used to be 10-11 days just over a year ago. However, over the last year, they've dropped the time between invoice date and due date by a day or two at a time until ~4 months ago, where it now stands at 3 days. We keep all emails from Slingshot, and can't find any notification whatsoever that this would be happening.

It doesn't worry us personally as funds aren't an issue, but surely at least 7 days is appropriate for due notification of money being removed from one's account or credit card charged?

3 days?

Is there a late payment fee, or is it just a warning if you are late?

Apparently there's a $5 late payment fee applied some time after.

Generally at least 7 days is a reasonable length of time for a variable amount to be deducted?

Hi guys,

I'll check with our Finance team about this and see what is going on here.

If you are having the same problem, could you please PM me your account number?

Thanks,
Ben

The due date has around 7 days after the rollover date (not necessarily after the invoice date) for as long as I can remember (my parents have been with Slingshot for 4 or so years.)

This was still the case on my bill 3 weeks ago (email came around 1AM on the 10th, due 16th) and on my parents' bill 1 week ago.

Hi guys,

This is right actually, I have confirmed with our Finance manager.

The payment requirement time frame for credit card payments only is 3 days.

Other payment options have longer grace periods before an account is deemed overdue.

Cheers,
Ben

This is ridiculous, on top of that the cheeky buggers charge you for the pleasure of sending you the bill ($1), then when dad promptly sends the cheque off in the return envelope he gets threatening Emails from slingshot saying our account is overdue and they will cut off our internet if we don't pay.

Clearly this needs to be addressed by someone at slingshot.

Probably because they don't mark the account as paid until the cheque clears.

"You are" = "You're" - Not "Your".  "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There".  You probably mean "lose" not "loose".  There's no such word as "Alot".

Yea cheques take a while to process and a while to deliver. More than 5 business days for the whole process. Payment terms of at least 14 days is reasonable IMO?

i know, my dad just likes to have control over when and how much money comes out of his account, witch you can't do with automatic payments. He also refuses to use interent banking, so that's out of the question too. It's a generational thing i think, then again my nana who's worked in offices her whole life taught me how to use a computer, so it's a personal choice as to how one manages their money. slingshot need to cut everyone a little slack, i doubt anyone would actually refuse to pay their bill so they just need to calm down a little bit, they'll get their money.

I kind of have to agree 3 days seems a little rough.

When I joined slingshot I started following a budget - I set up a fortnightly payment in line with my payday, rather than waiting for the invoice, so my account is always in credit.

Might not suit everyone, but worked for me
