In a security move by Slingshot people not with them for internet can not access the account page. Well this is all fine and dandy until a long comes an italk customer only....

Thanks Slingshot for the notification :-)

Anyway I now have no phone as I need to setup a new device and silly me I didn't note down the SIP password (which is different from the account logon) which I can get from the myaccount page.

I also can't manage the phone without that page. So I guess 2talk here I come :-)

Hi
Our Website is going through some security upgrades and while this is been done the Myaccount section will not be accessible unless you accessing it from a Slingshot connection. I apologize for the inconvenience and we will get this resolved ASAP. If you need any settings or to make any changes on the My Account section, please give us a call.

Cheers
Lewis

Come on, give them a break. It's clearly a temporary situation while changes are being deployed. You could call and get things done, instead you go straight to the "I'm moving providers because of this minor inconvenience" thing.

It's been going since then, but have you contacted Slingshot at any time about it?

Yes I've contacted Slingshot and they can't give a date as to when I can have access.

Plus no email or notification was sent out to us about it.

They know full well about the problem, there's been a thread about it on the Slingshot forums since early December. No change and no ETA. I don't know why this pretty obvious side effect of the 'security' upgrade wasn't discovered before deployment, surely they realise many people want to use the Slingshot portal from work/phone? Not to mention they've broken the Consume app and any applications using their API. Complete balls up.

You can't. Ringing up is about the only option you have. Unless you know someone on a slingshot connection, in which case you could use that.

Slingshot, this is getting bloody ridiculous. I was more than willing to cut some slack for a security upgrade, but I have been getting this error for months now. I need to be able to access this page from outside my own house. Sort it out.

We can't change our billing method from that page. This is completely unacceptable and totally amateur. JUST. SORT. IT. OUT.

As mentioned numerous times its not just the billing. One cannot modify any of the italk settings via the web (ITALK FEATURES)

What happened to Lewis's commitment at getting it resolved ASAP?

I apologise for the inconvinience, it is an issue we are still working on to resolve.

In the meantime, to modify your Easyphone features or any other aspect of your account please give our customer services representatives a call on 0800 89 2000.

Once we have an ETR for this issue, we will let you know.

Thanks,
Esther

Any update on this?

This is a real pain for me because I want to modify some of my phone features but am still unable to do so.
