I've just been connected to Orcon's @Home+, and so far I'm impressed with both their customer service, and the performance...?? I was cautious when they said it was super fast, but it actually appears to be.

These are from 5pm today...

Not for torrent users though, as they prioritise their traffic.??

Here's 8:15pm.

Was on last night at 9:30 and could actually stream video for the first time in ages.  (was previously on xnet's fusion plan, and for the last 3-4 months international crawled along)

Wow.  I've just got the same speed to LA as Auckland.  No one's at home tonight!

ORCON ROCKS!
IT ACTUALLY ROCKS! IT HAS SINCE THE START AND ALWAYS WILL!

I have always been more than happy to comment on Orcon's services. After using Orcon for more than 8 years, you won't believe how much I can say that will convince someone to the point where they just want to get it and try the fabulous speeds for themselves instead of me constantly showing them my speedtests and saying how wonderful the internet can be, then watching them curse back at me about their connection. Even the old days of dialup... I can still remember their dial server number, 086755666... Good ol' days of Orcon.

Then when ADSL came out, the speeds were amazing and whoever could pay for it crammed in to get a part of the cake. Then when ADSL2+ came out, the speeds were multiplied by 4, and now they're rolling out the rest of the country to equip them with the ability to use the internet at these speeds.

Orcon just keeps getting better, and I have never seen a better ISP in my life. They are a part of our kiwi world, making us feel much more respected than when with other ISPs, putting our questions and problems at the top of their list of TODOs whenever we have any.
10/10 for Orcon; keep up the superb work!

I agree, Orcon really does rock. I've had consistently excellent performance out of Orcon since going on LLU. My Epitiro Isposure client tells me I'm getting >16Mbps download and >900kbps upload on just about every test.

Having spent many years with ihug/VF, its a real breath of fresh air to have an ISP that actual means "Service" in the middle of the acronym.

i STILL have my orcon connection based up in Auckland, now paid for by the inhabitant of the house and it's been superb asides the original teething and porting problems.

It's not the cheapest but he says "no problems at all" and the few times I have been up and used it this year it's been utterly superb, I posted some speed tests from it last year and it was happily screaming away at 14Mbps consistent, apparently it's even faster now.

I must say, Orcon's service and support are definately top notch. (Even if my connection has been down for 2+ weeks, but I don't think that it's Orcon's fault.)

Then you will love this.

I've only being with 2 ISP's since having broadband. One was xtra the other and my current ISP is Orcon. All I can say is I am very impressed with Orcon, it has provided a service leaps and bounds over Telecom, and with me having my phone line+ broadband with Orcon, I am also saving $20 a month over xtra+telecom phone line. AAA+ Orcon, keep up the good work!

@ milos
some people might think the reason you said  ..."now we're rolling out the rest of the country" ... is because you had a Freudian slip.

meaning no one in their right mind would consider a large national internet company a "bro" and in fact you are affiliated with orcon  and are trying to undo some of the damning threads about your "bro".

im just putting it out there.

i enjoy drinking coke, but there not my bro...........

Hey again,

Yeah, I guess I did mess that up. Reading that post again made me feel kind of foolish, so I fixed it :)
I guess I just didn't know how to describe them. "THE BEST ISP IN NZ" could have summed it up just like that! That's what they are, if you haven't already seen:
