helmboy:
silverlake:  However, JX have published another article suggesting that we may be able to access I8 I18 and I19 with 90cm dishes.

That's very ideal and premature speculation,  I would still say that IS-8 will offer similar to what IS-5 offers.  ie, not much change

Well I am using the future conditional tense (may be able to) and I'm clearly giving my interpretation of someone else's work, so I don't think anyone has been promised anything!
However, I think it is fair to say that noone should rush out to buy a 2.4 meter dish in the belief that it will be needed to receive Australia Network or BBC World.

The guys at JX are on to it. I'll be keeping an eye on their website (and when the time comes I'll buy any kit that I need from them).

1 change of note: Arirang currently on I-8 Ku-Band NZ Beam has announced (here) it is leaving I-8. It is going to I-19 on the ANZ beam, which will be at 166 deg E, where I-8 is now. It is however going from Vertical on I-8 to Horizontal on I-19, so it may necessitate a climb on the roof for me.
