Original forum has been locked now (bit inconvenient)

Just wanted to check if anybody has any info on whether there will be any further firmware updates for this product.

Looks like it is still being sold with a new black model just been released.

Must be the time of year for firmware upgrades as I've been looking around for a newer firmware for this unit too.

My main issue is the lack of sound on some XVIDs - I'm guessing this unit has a bit of trouble with AC-3? :D

Yes, unit only supports mp2, mp3 and PCM as far as I'm aware.

Ah, I'm guessing no amounnt of firmware will probably fix this.
Sat box first, media player second.

Still good value for the ~$110 I laid out on it.

The fimrware I downloaded off the old thread seemed to fix my audio synch issues - so that's something!

I'm also interested in a new firmware if available.
I still have problems with the timer recording duration when more than one timer recording is set up.

I haven't even gone down that road, would be interested in the results though

I wonder if someone is here who already got this 'black' version. it will be usefull to know what ver of firmware it utilizes. If it has a newer one, to my understanding it can be saved from the unit to the file.
As there are  quite a few black models are sold and there is no complains on geekzone forum about the software issues, it might be fixed by now Wink. Anyway if someone is around with those new releases, please help the others!
