Hey all,

Anyone experiencing any lockups with a DishTV S7090PVR? I've had a couple over the last 4 or 5 days. Had to reset power (hold down the power button till unit switches off, then switch back on again) to recover.

I'm running the latest firmware (v1.1e).

Lost my schedule list last time I had to do this, but not my recorded programs. When it's in a "locked up" state, pressing a button on the remote control seems to register on the unit (I see a light flash on the unit when I press a button) but nothing happens. No sound, no picture. Am connected via HDMI for video and optical cable to a receiver for audio.

Not spotted any pattern yet but looking to see if anyone else is having similar problems.

Cheers.

It sounds like either a design or a manufacturing defect. Both are possible. Either is cause for returning it if you have that option and the issue is sufficiently annoying.

hey Chuckman,

this still happening for you?

i gave one to my mum a couple of weeks ago and she's also had two lockups and one recording more than it should have.

just wondering if i should return this unit or just wait for the next firmware update.

cheers.

Yep had a couple more lockups, hard reset loses any booked recordings which is a bit of a pain. Haven't had any over the last few days.

Have also had it restart itself a couple of times - this seems to be a bug - on both occasions I had just got to the end of a recorded programme (watching about 30 mins behind "live" TV) while it was recording the currently live programme at the same time. Pretty sure I'll be able to reproduce this problem.

Also noticed that booking something on TV3 also books the same programme on TV3+1

So waiting for a new firmware.

Thanks for letting us know. Have just updated so will see how it goes.

Seem to be some new options to play movies / music / photos etc off a USB stick / drive which I don't remember seeing before.

Not fixed my main issue - our Tues night reboot Frown

On Tues night we record Grey's Anatomy + Private Practice. These are series linked, on the same channel and one programme follows immediately after the other. Shortly after the 2nd recording starts (and the 1st one is still running due to the overlap with starting / stopping recording a few mins before / after the scheduled start / stop times), the PVR either freezes or restarts. We're usually watching a previously recorded programme at the same time - i.e. one view, 2 record on same channel, with overlapping start / stop.

Happens every Tues since we bought the unit. To be fair I haven't done any testing with other back-to-back programmes or actually reported this - was assuming this would be a pretty common problem so would have been picked up.

The latest upgrade is buggy, now the channel change is slow often displaying "please wait" or "insufficient signal to record" also randomly enters record I want to revert to previous firmware!!!
Also no sign of improved advert skip function or exporting files to computer despite repeated promises.
