sorry if this has been answered before. I have searched on geekzone and google and on dishtv site but either I am blind or its not listed.
does this unit support playback of divx and mk4 files from external hard drive.  I spent yesterday and all morning trying to find out

I have a recollection that this functionality would be added in later firmware upgrades, I cannot however find out where this information came from & whether it was real or imagined on my part. I have tried with much frustration to get my unit to play mkv's (or indeed any file other than the dishtv updates) off the usb stick so will be very interested if you get any results on this one
cheers

Okay I picked one up today.  Plugged it in and it tuned in freeview.  I then did blind scan and got the sbs channels, nine, go and gem.  It picked all the sky ones but very easy to delete the ones I didnt want.  I havent found how to get ANY epg on the aussie channels at all.  My unit has firmware v1.30.  Not sure if it may have been used even though it doesnt say refurbished.  The sort of silver part on front has fine scrathes on it.  Seems to work okay. trying out recordings.
