Topic # 105305 2-Jul-2012 08:36 Send private message

My understanding was choiceTV was supposed to be on Freeview DVB-S as of today (the 2nd)

I've done a scan and a blind scan and can't find it, has anyone been able to pick it up, if so how?

Thanks

I was thinking the same, did a scan and no Choice TV. They are leaving it a bit late to start if today was going to be  the start up date.

choicetv will be 5th July
from their website

Apologies for the delay in the go-live for Choice TV on satellite. Kordia have advised they will complete the install work tomorrow night (1.30am will be the switch over 5th July)

Will be great, only channel I miss now will be TV Central.  I much prefer my Ultraplus F-9000HD and X-9200  over the Tivo.  On my 32inch tv no discernible difference and prefer the interface so yeah great now choicetv will be on satellite

yep, looks like its much harder to do than they thought

** Freeview Satellite update **

Apologies for the delay in the go-live for Choice TV on satellite. Kordia have advised they will complete the install work tomorrow night (1.30am will be the switch over 5th July)

Technical satellite information is as follows:

Satellite: Optus D1 @ 160°E
Frequency: 12456.2 MHz
Symbol rate: 22.5 Msym/s
FEC: 3/4

The set-top decoder box will be able to analyse this carrier and separate out the services/channels within it, including Choice TV.

Depending upon what decoder you have (there are many on the market that are a mix of 'official' and 'unofficial') you may or may not need to manually scan for the channel.

At the same time Freeview are working on an EPG update for Choice TV satellite that is still ongoing, and due to be completed on July 10th.

Looks like no epg channel data for a few days once ChoiceTV is available, wonder if its just the MHEG epg not the EIT

Still no sign of it again and its passed 1.30am on their next guaranteed day of install... something is wrong when the goal posts change twice!

I updated my ultraplus at 5.30 this morning.  on my scan it showed up as svc_1941.  I then went into sevice manager and renamed it as Choice.  All working well

Choice TV is now on Satellite, there is no EPG data but you can tune it in

Not too sure on Approved receivers, but the EPG data will be installed next week.

Havent set it up on my media center yet.  But when set up windows 7 media center I didnt have prime.  Had to go to settings and retune but did full transponder scan then into channel edit and put tick on ones I wanted and untick ones I didnt want.   So you may have to do full transponder scan. It may not show up as choice perhaps. On my Ultraplus it was svc_1941
