Hi there a neighbor is moving out this week and he told me he got a monster amp so I like action movies and a good sound adds to the fun so Im thinking of buying his Amp sony SRT-DE345 and he said it works well and has remote selling for 75 dollars. Is this cheap becuase this are not that good or should I stick with my 5.1 old genius surround sound?. Would anyone be kind to recommend a different amp (reliable and good rich sound).thank you
Great to hear you got something similar and loud is good for action movies. And I do agree that lots of speakers and small children dont mix unless you hook the speakers up on the wall ahaha but that would not work with big speakers. I purchased at a garage sale a panasonic 5.1 speakers set that is just perfect for this with a massive subwoofer that it is nearly as big as my gaming tower pc. Im already imagining how could that sond like... "5 x 100watts makes a very big noise" = lol
so how long you had that amp for and is it both reliable and very loud.?
Sounds like a reasonable price for an old amp but I'd be inclined to beat him down to $50. Be aware it only has analogue inputs, no Optical or co-ax, so anything you connect needs to have anlogue outputs. Not much use for modern Tvs and Blu Ray etc as they usually have only digital (optical and/or co-ax) and stereo analogue outputs.
thanks for reply Bigglz and that is a good point 'Be aware it only has analogue inputs, no Optical or co-ax, so anything you connect needs to have anlogue outputs. Not much use for modern Tvs and Blu Ray etc as they usually have only digital (optical and/or co-ax) and stereo analogue outputs.' so I reckon I should just look into getting something more suitable for modern digital devices.
Yep it only has analogue inputs, but your connecting it to your HTPC, with I would imagine has analogue outputs
I’ve got a set of the small Sony 5.1 speakers with the massive subwoofer, great for movies but I got sick of pulling toy cars out of the subs port hole, hence I’m only using the 2ch setup now with large Wharfedale’s which are better for music
The amps about 10 years old, covered in little sticky finger marks and gets used daily with XBMC because my old LCD tv only has analogue inputs
very loud.? It made the 2 year old cry, when his curiosity of what the large round knob did, became too great.
