For the SSD, I would just go with a 64GB. Why spend heaps of money for just the boot drive.
I'm only using about 40GB on my C: drive on my media PC (Content on a separate partition).
My box has only 3GB of RAM but it really only just gets away with that. 4 would be better. 8 would be ideal.

64gb is enough for htpc system drive, but the price difference 64 vs 128 is quite small. so i think you can't go wrong with either size.
