In case anyone is interested. I've written a service wrapper of oscam to allow you to use oscam like a windows service.

Thanks for this.

I'm still yet to get acamd + oscam to play together nicely, but this'll be useful when they do.

For some reason, sometimes when I change channels acamd forgets to send a request to oscam. I have to wait for 10 seconds for acamd to try again.

I was wondering if you have the same problem? If you don't, I'd really like to get a look at your config files.

Thanks.

I've seen something similar, I'm using Win7x64>MediaPortal>MDAPI>acamd>oscam>omnikey1021>NZ45xx. In my case it couldn't get it to work until I replaced the WDM driver on my Technisat SkyStar2 DVB-S card with the BDA driver. It might be best to crack open another thread if you've got more questions then others can chip too,

Is that a Skystar HD 2, or really the regular B2C2 based Skystar?
I *think* TV Server has dedicated code for the Skystar 2 WDM driver because apparently the BDA driver is terrible... or at least has some interesting quirks...

Original SS2. No diseqc support in BDA but apart from that I've always found it MUCH better than WDM both in terms of stability and channel change speed. The only reason I was using the WDM driver was because the LATEST BDA (4.6.0) in win7 x64 exhibited someting very strange. Installed fine, MP saw the card and would scan it but it was hit and miss with finding anything. When trying to timeshift there would be heaps of discontinuities. Switched to 4.5.1 and everything including mdapi stuff works perfect. :) one other advantage of the WDM driver is the setup4pc tool that comes with it which has a reliable signal strength/quality meter.

Could be that you needed to use the older DVB-S network provider or use stop graph mode. The issue that I was referring to earlier was that B2C2 based tuners don't align the TS packets to the sync byte:

I've been meaning to buy myself one of the Skystar tuners for testing because some of that WDM support code is really messy. Anyhow, glad you got it working. Smile

You can have this one if you've got another DVB-S card of some kind to swap it for :)
