I have a reasonably high-spec PC: Core i7 920, 6GB, ATI HD 4800.

I was considering upgrading my DVD drive to a Blu-Ray drive and get Blu-Rays from now on.  However, I would like to know what easy options there are. 

I have been looking at FFShow but it is a little complex

I am palying the trial ... and just did a comparison with Inception.

It looked better via Arcsoft Theatre 5 vs Media Player.

Online only. Do a search for vouchers or I think you could "buy" a product they have which is free and they will send you a voucher for your next purchase. Cannot recall what product it was sorry.

sbiddle: FFDshow is the best option.


Agree and the upscaling settings are fairly straight forward. Good guides on AVS forums and elsewhere too

Does FFDshow now handle blurays? For upscaling DVD's sure but did not think it would provide bluray playback?Undecided

Seems to be a misleading thread title as the OP post content is all about Blu Ray players yet title is about software to upscale dvds...
