As title suggests.
Does the processor family matter too much?
Trying to decide what PC to convert into a dedicated HTPC
my intel i5-3570 or my AMD A6-3670

Thanks,

~Dylan

That i5 is overpowered for HTPC (and doesn't have a great GPU) so I would probably go with the A6... A pity it's the 100W TDP one though ;-)

I finally went with AMD and havent looked back.  I built originally with an Intel I3 and wanted a quiet unit. Even using aftermarket cpu cooler could never get quiet. Always had a vibration with the Intel cpu cooler fans.  Anyway when I need ed to rebuild I went with AMD Trinity in final build. Totally quiet with stock fan. In bios settings have fan set for silent. And the case fans I have at half speed and the unit is silent.  Very happy with the performance of the AMD setup and excellent graphics
